Six IRunMommies from our original team in Bradenton/Sarasota had a super fun adventure on October 8th, 2011, by participating in the 1Day Relay. The race started at Pier 22 in Bradenton and ended over 50 miles south at Sharky’s in Venice. The course was scenic, uncrowded, challenging, and resulted in a super, super fun day shared between friends!

On June 1st, several of our Sarasota/Bradenton IRunMommies will be embarking on a challenge! While we’re used to challenging ourselves on the race course, we’re going to now start challenging ourselves in the kitchen.
For the month of June, we will commit to this ONE THING:

It wasn’t necessarily pretty, but we did it.  Twenty five faithful IRunMommies completed the Ragnar Relay Miami to Key West event on January 7-8, 2011. IRunMommies from all over Atlanta, Charlotte/Lee County,  Osceola/Orange County, and Bradenton/Sarasota for what was definitely an EXPERIENCE!

A new Morning Milers Mini Clinic will begin in the Bradenton/Sarasota, FL area on January 28th, 2011. Sessions will be held every Friday at 9:30am. Meeting locations will vary each Friday, but we will primarily meet in the Lakewood Ranch/East Manatee County area.
The clinic will culminate with the IRunMommies participating in a local 5k or 10k together! Based on the published race dates, these races will likely be the Shark’s Tooth 10k on April 9th, 2011 and the CARE BE AWARE Autism 5k.

Our fabulous new Morning Milers Clinic graduated several new IronMommies this morning as they completed their FIRST 5k in style! In only four short, hot, weeks, these girls have accomplished something really special! And did I mention, they did all their training in Florida heat and humidity?!! These are some tough cookies!! BUT, we had a wonderful time together at Sammy’s Run and supported a wonderful cause!  Oh, AND we won “Most Spirited Team!”  Yeah, IronMommies!

Congratulations to our graduating Morning Milers class for completing, what was for many, their first 5k ever!! These girls have been working hard over the past 10 weeks, transforming their lives and becoming “running mamas!” And while they may not have enjoyed every day of the process, I think they’d all agree that the end result and the feeling of accomplishment last Saturday was entirely worth it!
Awesome job ladies!!
