I love being an IRunMommy, it allows me to stay healthy, set a good example for my children, as well as strengthen my mind body and spirit. I am a better mom when I take time for myself and I love being with other women that understand what I am going through. Everyone benefits! It is so much more than a workout, it is a family.” – Leslie R.

"IRunMommies is not your typical running group which is why I love you guys!! What a blessing each and every one of you have been! Thankfully I was told of this group by a friend who learned I was training for my first half marathon. What a monotonous and boring training plan that would have been had I not discovered IRunMommies. If you were to tell me 8 months ago that I would one day be running 13+ miles, I wouldn't have believed you! I cannot say what an incredible accomplishment this has been for me and I can tell you I wouldn't have done it alone. Moms of all fitness levels will feel welcome in this group - no one is left in the dust and everyone is there to push and encourage you to do your best. I know that I would not get that same kind of encouragement with the average local running group! What a perfect group for moms who share the love of family and the love and importance of physical fitness!" - Natalie P.

“There is a strength in numbers with this group that if you don’t think you can take one more step or make one more mile, there are two or three or ten women willing to stand beside you and say yes you can and we’ll do it together! Running with IRunMommies is not an individual sport.” – Rose-Anne F.

"I joined this group because I wanted to get rid of my stubborn pregnancy weight. Being very pleased with the program, I stuck with it. Meanwhile, I have made some very nice friends that I wouldn't have made at the gym or at home. The camaraderie and encouragement keeps me coming back. Knowing that my teammates are expecting me to be at class holds me accountable. And I love the "no mommy left behind" policy. It makes me feel so good when I see the rest of the team coming back to run with me, and I get an extra jolt of adrenaline to go a little farther and a little faster than I thought I could. Although I very much enjoy our practice runs, the races are really exciting. They provide goals and a purpose. Again, doing them as a team is much more fulfilling than doing it alone. With IRunMommies, I have achieved more than I ever thought was possible." - Kristanne K.

“I got ‘talked into’ joining this group and it has been the best thing for me. It’s better than a girl’s night out. It is great conversation and I’m running distances I could never do on my own. Plus it makes me feel great!” – Sarah B.

"Honestly, I was nervous about joining IRunMommies, as I had not run in years and not seriously worked out since before my pregnancy, almost two years ago. While I'm still relatively new to the group, the benefits I'm reaping have far surpassed my original goal of running a mile... and not going into cardiac arrest! I enjoy IRunMommies for so many reasons; the motivation, the challenge and the personal attention in helping you meet your personal potential, not just a "group goal". I love the social aspect of meeting other moms and making new friends, especially being new to the area. While we all have our own personal goals, it is still such a team-oriented environment. We are at different fitness levels, yet everyone is very encouraging to one another. It's really a lot of fun. The benefits have also translated into so many areas: I feel better, I eat healthier, and I wake up refreshed, ready to start each day. As a working mom, I'm in much better mental heath, and believe me, that's important!" - Valerie P.

“Why am I a member of IRunMommies? IRunMommies are the most motivating ladies to ever be around. I can’t say enough about the group!” – Jennifer S.

"Prior to joining the IRunMommies group, I was running a maximum of three miles on a treadmill. I remember telling our coach during that first week, that I was just a treadmill runner and my body will not let me go more than the three miles. Within a couple of weeks, our group was running four and then five miles. About a month after the start of our group, we ran the Ringling Bridge in Sarasota twice for a total of close to seven miles, we were all so surprised at ourselves, that was truly our first "long" run. I decided I needed a personal goal and signed up for a half marathon, which was about six months away. I told our coach that I had planned to run/walk the 13.1 miles and I would just look forward to hopefully finishing within the 3.5 hour maximum time allowed. Shortly thereafter, the IRunMommies group began our Saturday morning long runs and on the second Saturday we ran close to 10 miles! I knew then that I would be able to not only run the entire 13.1, but then made another goal to do it in under 2.5 hours. I could have never accomplished or even imagined this goal without this group. As a group we have since then signed up for another half marathon, several 5 & 10K's, and are planning to team relay a full marathon! This is a group of women who are so supportive of each other, often you'll see us after having finished a race go back and run in with some of the girls behind us! We like to finish as a Team! This is a wonderful group of women, in their 20s, 30s and 40s who are committed to each other in keeping our goals to be active, healthy, and have fun together!" - Lisa S.
